API Terms Addendum: Free Tier, Rate Watch, Enterprise and the Google Sheets Add-on

This addendum adds to our API Terms. Everything in the API Terms applies, including as-is data with no accuracy guarantee and not for filing (§2), keys and limits (§3), no resale (§4), liability (§6) and changes (§7). If this addendum and the API Terms differ on a matter covered here, this addendum applies.

B1. Free tier

  • The free tier gives a limited number of requests each month (free tier about 100 requests per month; paid plans as set out in your order). No payment is needed.
  • Attribution is required. Wherever you show or use data from the free tier, show the visible words "Rates from TaxProsRated", linked to https://taxprosrated.com. The attribution must be easy to see next to the data, not hidden in small print, a tooltip or page source.
  • You must also show each rate's source and as-of date, as API Terms §2 requires.
  • We may change free-tier limits, or suspend a free key that's used abusively or without attribution.
  • Our liability for the free tier is as set out in API Terms §6. As you pay no fees, the cap based on fees paid is zero, except where the law doesn't allow a limit.

B2. Rate watch

Rate watch sends email and/or webhook alerts when a rate changes in the jurisdictions you choose, with the official source and the as-of date of the new value.

  • Alerts are best effort. We don't guarantee that alerts will be timely or complete, or that we'll catch every change. Alerts are information only.
  • Provided as is. Not for filing. No accuracy guarantee.
  • Webhooks are signed. You're responsible for checking signatures and keeping your endpoint secure.
  • Rate watch is a paid subscription under our Sales Terms and the Sales Terms Addendum.

B3. Enterprise tier

  • The enterprise tier is available only under a written order form signed or accepted by both sides. The order form sets the fees, limits, term and any service levels.
  • US businesses only. Invoiced directly by Aurum Transfers Limited (trading as TaxProsRated) via PayPal.
  • The API Terms and this addendum apply to the enterprise tier. If the order form conflicts with them, the order form applies, but only where it expressly says it changes these terms.
  • Nothing in an order form makes the data suitable for filing or turns it into tax advice.

B4. Google Sheets add-on

Our Google Sheets add-on lets you pull our rates into a spreadsheet with your own API key.

  • The add-on is free to install. Requests use your API plan, and the free tier's attribution rule (B1) applies to anything you publish from a sheet.
  • Provided as is. Not for filing. Rates in a sheet are information only, with no guarantee of accuracy, completeness or timeliness. Each value comes with its source and as-of date in the cell note. Don't remove them when you share the data.
  • Google rules. The add-on is distributed through the Google Workspace Marketplace. Its use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, and the Google Workspace Marketplace policies.
  • Minimum scopes. The add-on asks only for the Google permissions it needs to work: access to the spreadsheet you use it in, connecting to our API, and showing its sidebar. It doesn't ask for access to your Google Drive, Gmail or contacts.
  • How the add-on handles data is set out in the Sheets Add-on Privacy Note.
  • Google's own terms also apply to your use of Google Sheets. We aren't responsible for Google's services.
